EMMA’S featured in Our State Magazine
Emma’s Carolina Cuisine and Spirits, a hidden gem in Downtown Concord, is featured in the “Tar Heel Tastes” section of the January 2008 edition of Our State Magazine. Owned and operated by local, Allen Terry, the eatery is as close as anything in Concord to resemble the Television “Cheers” Bar. Located where the Shoe Department used to be in the old Belk’s Store in the 1950’s and 60’s, Emma’s has a warm and relaxed feel with lkots of North Carolina memorabilia and pictures that transform you to other places in your mind. Terry, originally from Eastern North Carolina was inspired by the great cooking of his Grandmother, Emma, thus the name.Try the seafood chowder for a starter and if you like Maryland crabcakes, you’ll have to drive there to find any as good as these! Emma’s is open for Lunch daily from 11-3 and Dinner is served Wednesday-Saturday from 4:30 - 9:30. Service is great, food is excellent and the atmosphere, relaxing. Stop by for a glass of wine and enjoy one of Concord’s Downtown Treasures. (Emma’s Carolina Cuisine and Spirits, 11 Union Street, South Suite 108, Concord, NC 28025.
